what is good design? in addition to so many other things I feel that it is dynamic and fluid. it evolves while remaining true to itself. good design not only meets the functional needs of users/inhabitants but it also makes that very function that much more enjoyable. to me the process of designing something is exciting whether it is a room, a garden or even a knitted shawl. when I see an item of inspiration my mind immediately begins working and thinking of ways that I can use it.
That’s exciting! The process, the possibilities, the numerous design solutions, every part of it is exciting. As a designer (of many different media’s) I take things and transform them into something else. I feel that good design is a luxury that can be incorporated into every aspect of our lives. It is a functional as it is pleasing to the senses, all of the senses. The people in my life are fortunate enough to benefit from my deep appreciation of design and with this blog I intend to share some of the interesting, inspiring, and flat out cool things that I come across.
